Daft Punk’s Return

The gods of EDM are back, read on to discover the wonderful news of their return!

With almost 7 years of absence from producing new original material (not counting the soundtrack of Tron: Legacy), we are extremely excited to announce the return of the gods of EDM, Daft Punk. Rumors were spread  in 2011 that they would be producing new material, possibly for an upcoming album, yet nothing was made official. Well, very recently, Paul Williams  a re-known song writer who’s work has earned him an Academy Award-nomination for “The Rainbow Connection” from 1979′s The Muppet Movie and the Carpenters’ “We’ve Only Just Begun” ) has confirmed that Daft Punk contacted him and recently visited his home to write material together. What started as an informal meeting soon became a very formal and serious collaboration between the two icons. Williams stated: “I have written songs for Daft Punk. This material will appear on their new album, coming maybe June.” Yes you heard right, JUNE. But we won’t get our hopes high, because one thing we have learned from Daft Punk is to expect the unexpected, and this can not be more true when it comes to the robotic french duo. Last month it was also announced that Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers was to be working with Daft Punk as well, but no news of an official release were announced. Rodgers stated that: “We were just jamming at my house, but it’s gonna be proper and real. They came over to my house today around breakfast time and it’s now evening, I basically had to almost kick them out. We were having so much fun just in an informal setting that we decided to make it formal. And it’s very formal. It’s gonna be amazing.” Expect us to be informing you on upcoming news from the yet untitled work from Daft Punk!
